Mapy.com is a mapping service built by Seznam.cz, the Czech internet company that has been running it since the late 1990s. It covers the whole world but its real strength is Central and Eastern Europe, where its map data and local detail noticeably outpace what Google Maps offers.
The tool has always had a strong outdoors angle. Hiking trails, cycling routes, and ski pistes are baked into the base map rather than hidden behind toggles. The 3D terrain view and detailed elevation data make it genuinely useful for trip planning in mountainous areas like the Beskydy or the Tatras.
A route planner, offline maps for mobile, and a web app that works without an account cover the basics. Paid plans unlock more offline map storage and some navigation features. The iOS and Android apps have been around long enough to feel polished rather than experimental.
