European alternatives to Google Maps
Discover European-built tools you can use instead of Google Maps.
Google Maps is the default mapping service almost everywhere, and it works by knowing where you are and where you go. That location history is valuable to Google and exposed to US law. The European alternatives below offer maps, search and turn-by-turn navigation built largely on OpenStreetMap data, without building a profile of your movements. Coverage and points-of-interest data are strong across Europe in particular. If you're embedding maps in a product, a couple of them also offer developer APIs priced more openly than Google's.
