HERE WeGo is a maps and navigation app built by HERE Technologies, a Dutch company headquartered in Amsterdam. HERE has been mapping the world since the 1980s, originally as part of Nokia, and now operates independently after being acquired by a consortium of German automakers in 2015. The consumer app is the public-facing side of a company that primarily sells location data and mapping APIs to businesses and car manufacturers.

The app covers driving, walking, cycling, and public transit directions. One thing that stands out is offline map support: you can download entire countries and navigate without a data connection, which is genuinely useful for travel. Map coverage in Europe tends to be particularly detailed, partly because so many European carmakers rely on HERE data for their onboard systems.

It works in a browser and as a mobile app. The interface is straightforward without much clutter. There is no social layer, no advertising based on your movements, and no account required to use basic navigation. Privacy-conscious users tend to appreciate that.
