Where it runs
Data centers in Nuremberg and Falkenstein in Germany and in Helsinki, Finland, with newer cloud regions in the US. The company is ISO 27001 certified and operates under GDPR. Wind and hydro power cover the German and Finnish sites.
The trade-off
Hetzner is infrastructure, not a managed-everything platform. There's no sprawling catalog of higher-level services like you'd find on AWS. You get fast, cheap servers and build on top of them. For a lot of workloads that's exactly the point; for others it means more setup on your side.
