Tresorit
Switzerland
Swiss-made encrypted cloud storage where only you hold the keys to your files.
European Alternative to:

A zero-knowledge cloud storage service founded in 2011 by a Hungarian team, with the company now Swiss-headquartered after a 2021 acquisition by Swiss Post. Tresorit's whole product is built so that the encryption keys never leave your devices, and the servers can prove they don't see your files.
What you get
- End-to-end encrypted file sync, sharing and team folders
- Native apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, plus a web client
- Granular sharing controls: link expiry, download limits, watermarks, recipient verification
- eSign for signing PDFs without the document leaving the encrypted boundary
- An admin console with policy controls, audit logs and SCIM provisioning for teams
Where it sits
Servers in Microsoft Azure data centers in Ireland and the Netherlands, with the company itself a Swiss entity owned by Swiss Post. That combination, EU servers under Swiss governance, is part of what regulated customers are buying.
Honestly
Tresorit is more expensive than mainstream cloud drives, and the encryption boundary means there's no "preview any file in the browser without an unlock". For everyday family file sync that's overkill. For organisations that handle confidential material and want a real European vendor on the contract, it's one of the more credible choices in the category.
