Framer
Netherlands
Design and ship websites without writing code, built in Amsterdam.

A website builder from Amsterdam, founded in 2014 by Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk. Framer began as a code-based design and prototyping tool, then around 2022 reinvented itself as a no-code site builder. These days it's mostly compared to Webflow.
How it works
- Design on a visual canvas and publish straight from the editor
- Hosting and a global CDN are included; there's no separate deploy step
- Built-in CMS for blog posts and other structured content
- Components, layout tools and animations aimed at designers
- Templates and AI for generating a starting layout you then edit
Plans
The free plan publishes to a framer.website subdomain with a small Framer badge. Paid plans remove the badge, add a custom domain and raise the page and CMS-item limits, with separate tiers for personal sites, larger sites and teams.
Who it suits
Designers and small teams who want a polished marketing site or portfolio without touching code or managing hosting. If you need deep custom logic or a real web app, you'll hit the ceiling, but for the kind of site most companies actually need, it's quick and the output looks good.
